Lahore: According to the details, the waiting hours of lakhs of matriculation students across Punjab have come to an end. The marking of matriculation papers will start from Monday, June 29, the Secretary Higher Education has approved the date.
The marking of matriculation exams was postponed due to an increased risk of coronavirus, but now the Department of Health and the Department of Higher Education has approved the commencement of marking.
The marking of the pamphlets will start from Monday, June 29. The nine boards of Punjab will start marking at the same time while the prescribed SOPs of the health department will be followed. Will be considered for which institutions with large halls have been selected as marking centers.
Marking will be completed within 90 days, results will be announced in early October.
The marking of matriculation papers could not be started even after a week had passed yesterday. Despite the completion of arrangements in the marking centers, permission was not given by the government which made it difficult for the education boards to release the results of children in 90 days. Marking was to begin on June 15.
For marking, 27 centers have been set up in Lahore. Around 27,000 teachers were to participate in the paper marking process in these centers.
The Department of Higher Education had announced to start the papers from June 15. According to board sources, 275,000 candidates had appeared for the matriculation examination under the Lahore Board this year.
Chairman Board Riaz Hashmi said that the government has not given permission to check the papers, marking of pamphlets will be started as soon as permission is given.
